Johnson-Romero Funeral Home (719) 384-8200 Alfonso Maynes, of Rocky Ford, CO, entered into rest August 2, 2014 at the Pioneer Nursing Care Center in Rocky Ford, CO. He was born, March 29, 1934 to Crystobol and Gregoria Maynes in Tecolotito, New Mexico. He was 80 years of age. Alfonso is survived by his wife, Viola Apodoca of Rocky Ford, CO, Children; David Maynes of Rocky Ford, Barbara (Gilbert) Lopez of Amarillo, TX, Joseph Maynes of Rocky Ford, CO, Dennis Maynes of Rocky Ford, CO, Mary Ann (Manuel) Sandoval of Amarillo, TX, Victor Maynes of Amarillo, TX, step-children, Joe Apodoca of Rocky Ford, Janie (Rick) Becerra of Colorado Springs, CO, Leroy (Susie) Lovato of Ordway, Sandy (Roger) Morgan of Denver, Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren He is preceded in death by his parents, Crystobol and Gregoria Maynes , sons, Alfonso Maynes, JR., and Kelly Maynes, step-son, Benny Apodoca, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Alfonso enjoyed traveling and listening to Spanish music. He loved his special little dog "Killer". He will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be held at 10:30 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. Condolences can be made at johnsonromero.com.
