Bartolo Rodriguez, Jr. or “Bart” “Jr.” as everyone knew him took his last breath, Sunday February 23, 2020 in Wichita Kansas, at the Wichita Center for rehabilitation and nursing.
He was born in La Junta, Colorado on June 11, 1961 to Bartolo Rodriguez, Sr. of Juarez, Mexico and Lucy Covarrubias of Liberal,
Bartolo left behind his wife four children Debra Rodriguez of Kansas, Angela (Teddy) Guerra Rodriguez, Angelo (Deborah) Rodriguez, Chelsea (Jose Romero) Rodriguez all of LaJunta, Colorado, and Bartolo Absolm. Rodriguez of Liberal, Kansas, grandkids Santino Rodriguez, Benito Rodriguez, Juanito Rodriguez, Aaliyah Rodriguez, Destiny Guerra, Catalina Aragon, Ángelito Rodriguez, Cruzito Rodriguez-Guerra, Jeremiah Romero and Josiah Romero all of LaJunta. His brothers Eusebio Rodriguez, Gaby Rodriguez, and Miguel Rodriguez all of Liberal, Kansas, sister's, Irma Rodriguez of San Pedro, California, Lisa Santos of La Junta, Colorado, Tina (Mario) Oliveros, Maria, Corarrubias, Laura (Gabino) Cadena and Lorena Covarrubias, all of Liberal, Kansas, Nora Rodriguez, Carolina Rodriguez and Minerva Rodriguez, all of ElPaso, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his father Bartolo Rodriguez, Sr., brother Robert Rodriguez, sisters Rebecca Rodriguez, Josephine Vasquez, grandparents, Matina Medrano and Francisco Pancho Rodriguez, Isidro and Ernesta Guerrero.
Bart worked at Walmart for 15 years. He would always greet people with a smile. He always loved coming down to La Junta to visit his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed cookouts, camping and fishing and listening to Christian music. When he would see a nice low rider or a car he liked, he would always say “Man that car looks cherry”. He loved going to church and he always took everyone’s kids to church with him, his grandkids, nieces and nephew. He would always spread the word of God to all those who would listen. He loves his church in liberal and his pastor Mario and his family. He was dedicated to his church. He would also love going to Pastor Paul Simon ‘s church when he would visit in La Junta and would enjoy talking about God with Pastor Paul Simon and his wife Gloria. He would also tell Pastor Mario about Pastor Paul Simon. Bart Love spending time with all his family and love joking around with everyone. He was a proud father and a grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by everyone. In his early years he was a boxer and love to train you would always practice with his nun chucks it was a golden glove box or he never left the house without his poncho.
A 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass will be held Friday March 6, 2020 at The Upper Room Fellowship Church in La Junta. Pastor Paul Simon will be officiating.
