Obituary for Beatrice 'Bea' Florez Guerrero
July 1, 1926 - Sept. 29, 2014 Beatrice "Bea" Florez Guerrero, age 88, of La Junta passed away on Sept. 29, 2014, at Cherry Creek Nursing Center in Aurora, Colorado. She was born July 1, 1926, to Ramon and Elena (Orona) Florez in Sugar City, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her sons Juan Delgado and Tony M. Florez, brothers Dello, Joe, Paul, and Manual Florez and sisters Mary (Ciprino) Medina and Cora Contreras. Bea received her associates degree for drug and alcohol counseling from Otero Junior College. She belonged to Circle K group, Our Lady of Guadalupe Mariachi Choir. She like to play cards, dance, listen to Mexican music, watch old westerns, and complete word search puzzles. She loved to travel, especially riding the train and spending time with her grandkids. We will all miss her lovely smile and genuine laughter. The Alcoholics Anonymous number listed in the La Junta phone book for the last 30 years was her personal number. She desired to help out any needy soul who needed an A.A. meeting or words of encouragement. She was proud to say she had 40 years of sobriety. She is survived by her daughters Linda Wilson of Denver, Colorado, Gloria, Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Elena/Helen Townsend (Henry) of Brighton, Colorado; sons Henry (Trish) Guerrero of Aurora, Colorado, Phil Guerrero of Englewood, Colorado; granddaughters Lana (Luis) Marin of Denver, Colorado, Sonya Guerrero (Eric Romero) of Aurora, Colorado, Brittany Tschetter of Aurora, Colorado, Amanda Delgado of Aurora, Colorado, Abby Guerrero of Aurora, Colorado; grandsons Kirk (Connie) of Littleton, Colorado, Tony Montano of Pueblo, Colorado, Toby (Jenny) Martinez of Wichita, Kansas, Isaac (Michelle) Martinez of Parker Colorado, Chuck Plowman of Denver, Colorado, Isaiah (Katie) Guerrero, Aurora, Colorado, Travis Tschetter of Aurora, Colorado; and 10 great-grandchildren.
