Obituary for Bee Scott
“Bee” Scott of Swink, Colorado, entered into rest, April 17, 2017 at the Arkansas Valley Nursing Care Center in La Junta, Colorado. She was Born Edna Bernice Skinner on June 30, 1924 in Swink, Colorado, to Lee and Eula Skinner, She was 92 years of age. Bee grew up in La Junta, Colorado and graduated from La Junta High School in 1942. She later married Paul Scott on February 3, 1946 and the family settled north of Swink where Bee lived for the past 66 years.
Bee is survived by four children, Jay Scott and wife Lynn of La Junta, Nancy McElroy and husband, Larry of Swink, John Scott and wife Hazel of Spearman, Texas and LeeAnn Grimes and husband, Richard of Norwood, Colorado, as well as many grand, great-grand and great-great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eula and Lee Skinner, husband, Paul Scott brother, Harold Skinner, sister, Barbara Scantlin and great grandson Jacob Scott.
Bee was an active member in her church for many years where taught preschool, kindergarten and volunteered doing whatever she could. She belonged to the hospital axillary. She ran the bingo for the nursing home for many years and she loved to read. She especially loved spending time with her family.
A Celebration of her life will be held on April 29, at 11:00 A.M. at Calvary (Baptist) church (formerly 1st Baptist) in La Junta, where Bee was a lifelong member. Her son Pastor John Scott will be officiating.
