Obituary for Eugenio “Gino” Montano

Eugenio “Gino” Montano joined the stars on May 16, 2024. His spirit and heart beats on with his wife Cynde; his father Roger, mother Theresa, sister Rachel, brothers Roger and Josh, his stepdaughters Morgan and Becca (son Myles); and many extended family and friends from every walk of life.

Above all, Gino was a true "Renaissance man,” by definition, a man who was the center of his own universe and lived life on his terms, skilled with greatness in every pursuit he put his mind to, charisma that captured all who circled his orbit, unmatched wit, comebacks, humor, and an endlessly big heart devoted to those he loved.

It was life’s simplest pleasures that Gino savored to the fullest: sitting around a campfire with his wife Cynde taking in the peace of the night, countless long country rides exploring the vast valley landscapes with his dad, cooling off from a hot summer day by jumping into John Martin Dam, grilling up his world-famous BBQ for a festive party or another day at home with his family, or taking baby plant seedlings and growing them to their fullest potential inside or outside.

One of his proudest and greatest joys in life was meeting his grandson Myles, and any time he saw his grandson Gino’s entire being would light up. He was also so proud of learning the craft of carpentry from his dad, working tirelessly to make his rental business a success by updating the homes he owned, and always being of service to lend a hand to friends and family with their home projects.

Rare is the one who keeps a child-like, jolly-go-lucky spirit, but that was Gino. He was so full of life that no matter where he went, he commanded the room because people naturally gravitated to his warm, adoring, and magnanimous personality. Even more endearing was his boundless curiosity, which took him on countless adventures collecting experience near and far, gifting him with a flare for being one of the most engaging storytellers you’d ever meet.

In the sky filled with infinite stars, the brightest ones burn out the fastest because they have more energy than any of the other stars, which perfectly encapsulates Gino. From the day he was born until the day he rejoined the stars, he was the brightest of souls you could know, and he will be forever loved, missed, and always remembered.
