Obituary for Fermin Rael Jr.
Fermin Rael Jr. entered into rest September 18, 2017 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.
He was born to Fermin Sr. and Eloysa Rael, December 13, 1944 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was 72 years of age.
Fermin is survived by his children; Evangeline Anita (Eugene) Lopez, Samuel Albert Rael, Eloise Marie Rael Grandchildren; Michael Anthony Mendez and
Stephen Edward Rael, 3 sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fermin Rael Sr, Eloysa Padilla Rael both from Taos, New Mexico.
Siblings, Albert Rael, Priscilla Rael, James Rael, Teofilo Rael, son, Daniel Rael (2013) and granddaughter, Krystal Chere Mendez (1999).
His specialty was working with fiberglass, construction, and working on cars.
He was born in Fort Collins but the family moved to La Junta when he was very young.
Fermin grew up listening to Neil Diamond who was his favorite artist. He also loved Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) and the Carpenters. We have fond memories of listening to him sing to all his records. Memories we will treasure.
Fermin only went to the 7th grade but was very intelligent through reading. He was of strong faith, knowledge and wisdom. He was talented in drawing as well, a trait his sons also inherited. He also had throat cancer and overcame that illness.
A 10:30 Rosary Service will be held Wednesday October 4, 2017 followed by an 11:00 AM Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in La Junta, Colorado.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Johnson-Romero Funeral Home.
