Obituary for Frank Telesforo Garcia
Frank Telesforo Garcia, of Canon City, Colorado, and formerly of Farisita, Colorado, entered into rest, May 13, 2019 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was born October 10, 1931 in Farisita, Colorado. He was 87 years of age. Frank was the son of Teresa and Candido Garcia. He was the youngest of seven siblings.
He is survived by his wife Angelina Maes-Garcia, sister, (Nun) Sister Jane Frances of Yankton, South Dakota, two sons, Frank Garcia of San Francisco, California and Greg (Joann) Garcia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, granddaughter, Gina (Erik) Fort and two great-grandsons, Nathan Fort, and Zackary Fort of Graham, Washington, Angelina’s children, Art (Marie) Maes and family of Pueblo West Colorado , Martin (Kim) Maes and family of Pueblo, Colorado, Irene (Kelly) Whittington and family of Potwin, Kansas, Eli (Marcella) Maes of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Elaine (Esket) Padeken and family of Hilo, Hawaii, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frank proudly served his Country in the U. S. Navy as a Gunners Mate from 1950 to 1954. He retired from United Airlines as an Aircraft Mechanic and returned to Colorado in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He had a beautiful flower garden. Frank loved to travel and he was a good cook.
A Rosary will be held at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Walsenburg, Colorado at 7:00 PM on Thursday May 16, 2019. A Reception will follow at Delaney Hall. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary’s Church at 10:00 AM on Friday May 17, 2019. Following services an Internment will be held at the Farisita Cemetery. A reception to follow at Gardner Community Center.
