Gavina Magdaleno Valdez of Rocky Ford, Colorado entered rest January 13, 2022, in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born to Soledad and Jesus Magdaleno February 19, 1929, in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Gavina was 92 years of age. She is survived by her children, Paul (Debbie) Valdez of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Jennie (Hunter) Valdez, of Fort Collins, Colorado, Christina (Jack) Valdez of Fort Collins, Jesusita (Don) Vaughn of Fort Collins, Martin (Cindy) Valdez of Rocky Ford, 54 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Brothers, John Henry Magdaleno of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Ruben (Stella) Magdaleno of Denver, Colorado and Ernie (Jane) Magdaleno of Fort Collins, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Soledad, husband William B. Valdez, brother Paul Magdaleno, daughter Rosita Cordova, Son Joseph Valdez, infant daughter, Christina Valdez and granddaughter Krista Valdez.
Gavina enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, yard sales, feeding birds, westerns, her novellas, shopping and spending time with her family. She was very generous and loving. She would give to anyone in need. She was an instant grandmother, mother and friend to everyone she met.
A 6:00 P.M. Visitation followed by 7:00 P.M. Rosary will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado. A 10:00 A.M. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
