George Lewis Lucero, of La Junta, CO, entered into rest, March 29, 2016. He was born, June 4, 1937 in Denver, CO, to Lucio and Theresa Lucero in Denver, CO. He was 78 years of age. George is survived by his former wife of 38 years, Juanita Lucero, children, Felicia (Robert Mender) Lucero of Denver, CO, Angela Nieto of Lamar, CO, Sabrina (Stan) Clements of Denver, CO, Geoffrey (Lisa) Lucero of La Junta, CO, grandchildren; Derek Lucero, Tara Lucero, Robert Lucero, Nicholas Weichel, David Lucero, Mikeala Almanza, Cassondra Hernandez, Heather Hernandez, Justin Tafoya, Stacie Mertins, Dominique Lucero, Isaiah Chaparro, Acelin Lucero, Karlos Chaparro-Lucero, Lylianna Chaparro and 32 great grandchildren, brothers, Richard (Gloria) Lucero and Paul (Ruth) Lucero both of Denver, CO.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Lucio and Theresa Lucero, grandson, Paul Solis, and three brothers, Sam, Frank, and Fred Lucero. George enjoyed arts and crafts, singing and listening to music. He was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis of Assisi Brotherhood. He was a resident at the Arkansas Valley Nursing Care Center. He actively participated in all of the activities. He loved visiting with the other residents and the staff. He will be greatly missed by all. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Arkansas Valley Hospice.
