Obituary for Jennie Jaunita Lopez
Our beloved wife and mother Jennie (Juanita) Lopez, a longtime resident of Manzanola died on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. Her husband and children were by her side when she ascended home to be with the lord. She was born in Labotos, Colorado on July 28, 1939 to her parents, Candido and Juanita Maria Mares.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers – Demicio, Danny and Robert, sister – Mary. She is survived by her husband Jose B Lopez, Sons – Lenny (Karen) Lopez, Jaybee (Olivia) Lopez, Tommy Lopez and Daughters – Margie (Alfred) Monnet, Benita (Felix) Baca, Janet (Tommy) Lucero, Maria (Albert) Cruz and Brenda (Leonard) Meyer, 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Siblings Crystalla, Sylvia, Gloria, Jessie, Manuel and Candido.
Jennie loved good food and socializing with her family and friends and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home in La Junta has been entrusted with the arrangements. Rosary will be held at St Peter’s Catholic Church, 1209 Swink Avenue, Rocky Ford, CO 81067 on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Funeral will be held at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 12:30 pm.
