Obituary for Johnny Gallegos 05.01.2015 Johnson-Romero Funeral Home 719 384-8200 John "Johnny" Edward Gallegos, entered into rest, April 28, 2015 at his home in La Junta. He was born September 2, 1964 in La Junta to Jose and Mary Ida Gallegos. He was 50 years of age. John is survived by his mother, Mary Ida Gallegos of La Junta, brother Richard Phillip Gallegos of La Junta, sister, Mary Jo (Jose) Jaramillo of Pueblo, son, Shane, daughters, Natasha and Madelyn, several Nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Gallegos and brother, Ernie Gallegos. John enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and the great outdoors. He also enjoyed cutting wood, it is how he received his nickname "Bunyon". John worked for several years as a firefighter for the Forest Service. He dearly loved all of his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at Johnson-Romero Funeral Home in La Junta. A Rosary will be held Monday at 10:30AM followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Las Animas. Johnson-Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
