Obituary for Larry Kiyoshi Tanabe
Larry Kiyoshi Tanabe of Rocky Ford, Colorado, entered into rest September 19, 2020, at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado.
He was born to Tom and Myrna Tanabe, September 13, 1973, in Rocky Ford, Colorado. He was 47 years of age.
Larry is survived by his mother, Myrna Tanabe of Las Animas, Colorado, siblings, Kevin (Amy) Tanabe of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Suzan Tanabe of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Steven (Jazzi) Tanabe of Lakewood, Colorado, nieces and nephews, Abbie (Bo) Karney of Branson, Colorado, Trenton Kiyoshi Tanabe of Rocky Ford, Colorado RaeLei Tanabe of Lakewood, Colorado and great-nephew Briggs Karney of Branson, Colorado, numerous aunts, uncles cousins and friends, special friends Darren (Shannon) Garcia and their son, Wesley. Larry’s family would also like to acknowledge the special group of friends he had from the Nava Manor.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tom Tanabe, grandparents, Frank and Nobuko Tanabe, and Ed and Clara Chamberlin, as well as, uncle, Harry Tanabe.
Larry was a people person and he loved everybody. He enjoyed fishing, collecting farm toys but especially enjoyed spending the majority of his time with his nieces and nephews. They were his life. He was known to be a lady’s man and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a bright light for everyone he came in contact with. Larry always made everybody’s day better. Larry loved celebrating New Years Day and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
A Life Celebration will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the Rocky Ford High School Football Field in Rocky Ford, Colorado.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
