Obituary for Maria "Reyes" Trujillo
Maria “Reyes” Trujillo of La Junta, Colorado, peacefully entered into rest surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home, January 14, 2021.
She was born in Trinchera, Colorado, October 18, 1930 to Casimedo and Alclarita Chavez. She was 90 years of age.
Reyes married Patrocino Trujillo and together they had Lorraine, Cathy, Cecelia, Michael and Connie.
Reyes is survived by her daughters, Lorraine (Daniel) Sanchez, Catherine DeHerrera, Cecelia Trujillo and Connie (Ernie) Chavez, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren, brother Thomas (Linda) Chavez.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Casimedo and Alclarita, son, Michael Trujillo, brothers, Rudy, Ralph, John Chavez, sister, Angela Salazar, brother -in-law, Adolpho Salazar.
Reyes enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed gambling and playing Bingo. Reyes was an expert quilt maker and sewed each stitch by hand. Her church was important to her. Reyes was very involved in the school and encouraged education. She was a very strong woman. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her.
