Obituary for Mary Alice Romero 06.20.2014 Johnson-Romero Funeral Home (719) 384-8200 Mary Alice Romero, of Rocky Ford, CO entered into rest June 18, 2014 at the Crowley County Nursing Care Center in Ordway, Colorado. She was born June 1, 1924 in Mora, New Mexico to Ramaldo and Estilita Cordova. She was 90 years of age. She is survived by her Sons, Henry "Loretta" Romero of Portland, Oregon, Jose Danny "Anita" Romero of La Junta, Colorado, George "Agi" McCarrell of Fallon, Nevada, Daughter, Elizabeth Ann Munro of Rocky Ford, Colorado. 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 Great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her Parents Ralmaldo and Estilita Cordova, son, Eddie Ray Romero, grandson, Tony Romero, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Mary was a devout Catholic. She loved praying and going to church. She loved her family and enjoyed listing to her son Danny playing the guitar and singing songs he wrote. She also enjoyed his southwest art carvings. She was a homemaker and loved cooking. She also enjoyed watching her novelas (soap operas) on Television. A rosary will be held at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado, Monday, June 23rd at 10:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass at 10:30. Father Paul Ekeh will be officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
