Mary C. Martinez of Rocky Ford, Colorado, went to be with the Lord, September 11, 2019 in her home as she was surrounded by her family.
She was born to Manuelita and Saturino Rivera June 7, 1923 in La Jara, New Mexico. She was 96 years of age.
Mary is survived by her children, Peggy (Jim) Sandoval of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Nadine (Dan) Miell of Pueblo West, Colorado, Thomas Martinez of Rocky Ford, Colorado, and Betty (Jerry) Grano of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Dorothy Martinez, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Patricia Trujillo of Rocky Ford, Colorado, grandchildren Stacy (Nick) Lewis, James (Chelsea) Sandoval, Royce (Joleen) Miell, Tano (Marissa) Miell, Vanessa (John) Taggart, Leah (Eric) Vallejos, great grandchildren, Chris, Jace, Ryder and Jax Lewis, Mila and Milo Miell, Jaden Vallejos, and Larrianna Taggart, brother, Fred Rivera of Rocky Ford and Sister Cindy Medrano of Rocky Ford, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Juan Martinez, grandchild Asher Vallejos, 4 brothers and 1 sister.
She enjoyed sewing and she made many quilts in her lifetime, she also enjoyed bingo and yard sales. Mary had a green thumb and a special talent for growing flowers. She was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed.
A 10:00 A.M. Rosary will be held, Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado followed by a 10:00 A.M. Memorial Mass. Father Paul Ekeh Will be officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
