Obituary for Ophelia Lovato
Ophelia Lovato passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on February 17, 2015. She had been a resident of Crowley County Nursing Center. Ophelia was born in Lobatos, Colorado on November 7, 1926. She grew up in the San Luis Valley in Antonito, Colorado. After marrying Jesus, they made their home in Ordway. Ophelia loved to garden and she enjoyed crocheting and watching westerns on TV. She was also known for her "green chili" by family and friends. Ophelia was preceded in death by her parents, Eutilia and Ruben Jiron, husband, Jesus, infant daughter, Connie, son, Thomas, four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by daughters Connie (Porfie) Archuleta, Linda (Jerry) Gonzales, Patricia (Ron) Stangl, Becky Barras, and son Kirby Lovato, twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Sister Eufracia Shironaka and brother, Herman Jiron of Johnson, Kansas. A 10:30 A.M. Rosary will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ordway, Colorado Friday May 29, 2015 followed by an 11:00 A.M. Memorial Mass. A reception will follow the funeral and a final committal service will conclude at the Ordway Cemetery following the reception.
