Obituary for Richard Paul “BUBU” Rivera
Richard Paul “BUBU” Rivera of Rocky Ford, Colorado entered into rest, April 17, 2023 in La Junta, Colorado. He was born in Rocky Ford, to Jane and John Rivera, on November 22, 1960. He was 62 years of age.
Paul is survived by his wife, Lorraine Rivera, four children, Crystal Flores of Rocky Ford, April (Jason) Estrada of Brule, Nebraska, Randy (Aileen) Rivera of Rocky Ford, Sarah (Larry) Lopez of La Junta, grandchildren, Jermaine, Felicity, Son’Tiana, Carlos, Rylee, AJ, Joshua, Ava, Randy Junior, Raziel, Jacob and Rainey, great grandchildren, Analycia, Kai and one unborn grandson, Jeremiah due in June.
“BUBU” enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, and especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He would help everyone and anyone. He had good relationships with his nieces and nephews. He loved to restore classic cars and trucks. He mostly loved to work on his 1950 Chevy Fleet line Deluxe, that he had since 1987. He spent a lot of time working on his “Bomber”. He also enjoyed going to Junk Yards searching for parts for his cars and doing card tricks. He loved to travel and visit family and take his family to see and visit places. He loved to joke around and mess with family and friends. Most of all he enjoyed this journey of life with his beautiful wife Lorraine. They have been together for 41 years on June 5th. They would travel together, go shopping and go to flee markets. He loved to take Lorraine cruising in their Bomber. They enjoyed attending car shows. They recently won first place at the Latin Jams 2022 Car Show in Rocky Ford.
Paul worked at the Ark Valley Coop as a Shop Manager for 10 years and worked for the COOP for 18 years.
He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
A 9:00 Am Life Celebration will be held at the American Legion in Rocky Ford, Colorado April 29, 2023.
