Obituary for Robert Casillas Jr.
Robert Casillas Jr., of La Junta, CO went to be with the Lord
on January 21, 2018 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born, March 31, 1947 in Knox City, TX to Martha and Robert Casillas. He was 70 years of age.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Casillas, of La Junta, his children; Ernest Montoya of La Junta, Lisa (Ted) Garcia of La Junta, , Mike (Elena) Casillas of Pueblo, Jeff (Shannon) Casillas of La Junta, Bobbi Jo (Frankie) Marquez
of La Junta, Isaac (Marina) Casillas of La Junta, Gloria (Jorge) Medina of La Junta, brother in-law Phillip (Trish) Martinez 26 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Casillas Sr. and Martha Moncibiaz, brother, Edwardo Casillas, sister, Tomisita Torrez, father in-law and mother in-law Phil and Della Padilla,
sister in-law's Gloria Montoya & Mary Vigil.
Robert loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren joking and laughing. He loved traveling and was ready to go at the drop of a hat. He enjoyed a day out with his loving wife, kids and grandkids. It didn't matter if it was as simple as going out to eat at his favorite restaurant, Golden Corral, or spending a weekend away with his family. He was self-employed in multiple trades. His love for music and family inspired him to create a family band named La Banda Alegre, he and his children created many fond memories in the 15 plus years performing together. Robert’s smile and kind words will be remembered and missed by all.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday January 25, 2018 at the Crossroads Church of La Junta. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday January 26, 2018 at the Crossroads Church. Pastor Mike Beecham will be officiating. A Committal Service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
