Celebrating a Life of Warmth, Adventure, and Generosity

Rodney James Jiron of Centennial, Colorado, entered into rest on August 30, 2025, at his home, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and cherished memories. Born September 24,1969 in La Jara, Colorado, to Benita and Obed Jiron Sr., Rodney lived life with open arms and a generous heart.

Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Veronica Jackie Jiron of Centennial, Colorado; his beloved son, Estevan Jiron of Centennial who is attending the University of Arizona; siblings Obed Jr. Jiron of Sanford, Colorado, Cindylee, (Pat) Herrera of Alamosa, Colorado, and Kelvin (Pam) Jiron of Englewood, Colorado. His memory is held dear by his nieces and nephews, including Adam (Desiree) Jiron, Alonso Herrera, Diego Herrera, Sebastian Vasquez, Nicolas Vasquez, Ethan Vasquez, Clementine Vasquez, Vega Vasquez, Giovani Jiron, Jynora Herrera and Oliver Herrara. He is also fondly remembered by his mother-in-law, Victoria Vasquez, and brothers-in-law, Carlos R. Vasquez and Bobby Vasquez.

He was preceded in death by his father, Obed Jiron Sr.; his grandfather, Delfino Gallegos; and his grandmother, Dellia Gallegos. His father-in-law, Carlos A. Vasquez.

Rodney was a true outdoorsman, finding joy in camping, fishing, and exploring the beauty of the mountains. He treasured beach trips, visits to Disneyland and San Diego, and enjoyed classic cars. Above all, Rodney had a passion for helping people—whether through his three-decade career as a dedicated optician or his generous spirit in every facet of his life. He cared deeply for his clients, always going above and beyond to ensure their well-being.

Known for his ability to connect with anyone, Rodney’s humor and warmth brightened every gathering. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets. Rodney’s laughter was infectious, his jokes legendary, and his “eagle eye” remarkable—he could spot wildlife while driving, delighting his family with this special talent.

Rodney’s adventurous spirit was matched by his love for his family and friends. He cherished moments spent thrifting with his son and will be deeply missed by his beloved dogs, Arwen and Alex. Rodney’s presence brought happiness and joy to everyone who knew him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A celebration of Rodney’s life will be held at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Denver, Colorado, where friends and family will gather to honor the man who brought so much light to their lives.
