Johnson-Romero Funeral Home (719) 384-8200 Rodrigo "Roger" Montanez, of Rocky Ford, CO entered into rest in his home surrounded by his loving family April 28, 2015. He was born, March 13, 1937 in Rocky, CO to Dora and Aniceto Montanez. He wa`s 78 years of age. Roger is survived by his children: Beverly (Ed) Archuleta of Las Animas, Roger Montanez, Jr. of Denver, CO, Reuben (Arlene) Montanez of Denver. CO, Ruby (Joby) Gallegos of Colorado Springs, CO, Artie Montanez of Rocky Ford, and Anita Montanez of Rocky Ford. Six granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and two great grandchildren. Roger is preceded in death by his parents Dora and Aniceto, as well as his sons, Andrew "Andy" Montanez, "Rudy" Montanez, and David Montanez. Brothers; Noberto "Beto" Montanez, Cesario "TaTe" Montanez, and sister Ruby Montanez. Roger loved playing his guitar and singing Mexican music, spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, darts, shooting pool, and fishing. On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, a Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Johnson-Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
