Obituary for Ronald Eugene Nava
Ronald Eugene Nava of La Junta, Colorado, entered into rest October 4,
2020 at his home. He was 81 years of age.
Ronald was born, May 6, 1939 to Laura and David Nava in Rocky Ford,
Colorado.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Nava, of La Junta,
Colorado, and his children; Joan Avila of Alamosa, Colorado, Richard
(Chanalyn) Avila of Franktown, Colorado, Elis (Jay) Leach of Lantana,
Texas, David (Brandy) Nava of Aurora, Colorado, grandchildren; Kyle
Avila, Leah Avila, Tyler Apodaca, Jared Apodaca, T.J. (Adrianna)
Rodriguez, Jaida (Colby) Acosta, Dylan Nava, Avery Nava, great
grandchildren; Miya Rodriquez, Estrella Acosta-Alire, Brody Gallion, Lex
Crowther, Marley Avila, Ryott Crowther, Luna Lamareaux, Mia
Rodriguez, and sister, Patricia Nava of La Junta, Colorado.
Ronald is Preceded in death by his parents, David and Laura Nava, and
his brother, Charles Nava.
Ronald enjoyed fishing, camping, photography, and spending time with
his family. Ronald was a farmer in Rocky Ford, Colorado for over 17
years. He also worked as a landscaper in Denver for over 20 years. He
owned several businesses in Rocky Ford over the years. He was a hard
worker and stubborn at the mention of retirement. A supportive and
caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and
friend to the end, he will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 10:00
a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in La Junta,
Colorado. Father Wertin will be officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the
Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
