He was born April 22, 1953 in Fowler, CO, to Modesto and Ophelia Cruz. He was 62 years of age. Rudy is survived by his daughters, April M. Smith of Riverside, CA, Stormy (Raymond) Rodriguez, of Ontario, CA, Trina (Michael) Cruz of Pomona, CA. sisters; Angie Martinez and Carol Reyes of Rocky Ford, Irene C. Escalante of Ontario, CA, Florida Dominquez of California City, CA, Freda (Randy) Salazar of Victorville, CA, Nancy (Manuel) Ujieta of Lawrenceville, GA, Sister-in-law, Patsy (Vialpando) Cruz, brothers; Gary Cruz of Rocky Ford, Lawrence (Gina) Cruz of Chino Hills, CA, Frankie (Frances) Cruz of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren; Chyia and Shayna Smith, Noah and Raylea Rodriguez, Isaac, Isaiah and Maximus Cruz, Step -father Salvador Delgado, of TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Modesto and Ophelia Cruz, brother, David Cruz, brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Patsy Amaya Cruz, brother In-laws, Dan Martinez and John Dominguez, and his sister Cathy Cruz. Rudy was fun and loved to joke around, he enjoyed listening to oldies, hanging around his family and friends. He was also an artist and enjoyed drawing cartoons. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 7, 2015 at the St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. Father Paul Ekeh will be officiating.
