Obituary for Rudy Mascarenas
Rudy Mascarenas of La Junta, CO, entered into rest March 9, 2016 peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Rudy was born in Las Animas, CO, April 14, 1928 to Claudia (Whatley) and Augustine Mascarenas. He was 87 Years of age. He attended school in La Junta. He worked for 33 years at the Colorado Packing Plant and also worked at Swink Schools and the City of La Junta Parks and Rec.
He married Tillie Madrid on April 29, 1950. They were married 65 years.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Tillie Mascarenas, Sons; James Mascarenas, Thomas (Ginger) Mascarenas, Matthew (Kenny) Mascarenas, Daughters; Dolores Mascarenas, Lorri (Tom) Martinez, Cynthia (Robert) Martinez, Grandchildren; Quentin Mascarenas, Cassie (Gil) Apodaca, Joseph (Anita) Roybal, Anson Roybal, Michael Lasley, Tyler Lasley, TJ (Cyndi) Martinez, Johnathan (Taci) Martinez, Dominic (Linnea) Martinez, Christopher Mascarenas, Trenton Mascarenas, Elizabeth Mascarenas, Alexandria Mascarenas, Achilles Mascarenas, Great Grandchildren; Hayden Mascarenas, Makayla (Chris) Burrows, A.J. Roybal, Isabel Roybal, Jarin Lasley Kayla Lasley, Taunisha Lasley, Lexus Lasley, Tommy Martinez, Jordan Martinez, Myame Martinez, Hunter Isaacs.
Rudy is preceded in death by his sons; Rudy (Tata) Mascarenas Jr., Lorenzo (Rocco) Mascarenas and his Parents, Claudia and Augustine Mascarenas.
He loved watching professional wrestling and attended many live events. He loved watching old western movies and listening to Johnny Cash. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather who always loved and provided for his family. He especially always provided for and took care of his wife Tillie. He was very friendly and would talk to everyone. He had many friends in La Junta, and never knew a stranger. He will be missed by his family and all of his many friends. A Rosary will be held at 9:30 A.M. Thursday, March 17, 2016 followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe St. Patrick’s Parish in La Junta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of Johnson-Romero Funeral Home.
