Santana "Nick" Martinez of Denver, CO, and former resident of Aurora, CO, peacefully, entered into rest, November 5, 2018, at the Cherry Creek Nursing Center in Aurora, CO.
He was born, May 9, 1943, to Juan & Angelica Martinez in Wagon Mound, New Mexico, he was 75 years of age.
Nick is survived by Son Santana (Jessica) Martinez, Daughter Angelica Martinez of San Diego, CA, Son Glenn (Laura) Encinias of Hooker, OK, Granddaughters; Jessica (Nicole) Encinias, Juliana Martinez, Jovan Martinez, Jasmine Ruiz, all of Denver, CO, Naomi Rivas of La Junta, CO, Grandsons; Santana Martinez & Julian Martinez of Denver, CO, Alex Encinias and Isaac Encinias of Pueblo, Co. Great-granddaughters Jade Gomez of Denver, CO & Sophia Rivas of La Junta, CO, Brother Alfredo Martinez of Pueblo, CO, Sisters Virginia (Ted) Lucero of Manzanola, CO, Phyllis Archuleta of Montezuma, NM, and Dorothy Hernandez of Lamar, CO and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife Vada Mae Jones, Son Julian Martinez, Daughter Brenda Martinez, Great-granddaughter Jaylieanna Rivas-Trujillo, Sister Rose Marie Lopez, Brothers John O. Martinez, Ernie Martinez, and Richard Martinez and the recent passing of his grandson Jarod Dylan Rivas.
Nick loved family gatherings and he was devoted to his Bible studies.
His rosary and mass will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. At his request cremation will take place followed by a private inurnment at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
