Obituary for Solomon Eliseo Cantu
Solomon Eliseo Cantu of La Junta, Colorado entered into rest December 16, 2020 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was born to Alfonsa and Carlos Cantu May 25, 1929 in Cerritos, Colorado. Solomon was 91, years of age.
He is survived by his wife of 9 ½ years, Catherine Cantu, sister Faye (Joe) Marquez, of Pueblo, Colorado various nieces and nephews.
Solomon served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He worked at the Pueblo Steel Mill and for District 11 Schools as a yard man. He grew up on a ranch in Cerritos, Colorado. When he was young, he worked hard and lived with his grandpa on the farm with a horse named Pinta. He also enjoyed taking long walks and going shopping. Solomon was very comical, and he loved to sing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfonsa and Carlos Cantu sisters, Cora Williams and Sarah Maestas half-sister Gertrude Salazar and half-brother Woody Mang. An 12:30 A.M. Grave Side Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Friday January 15, 2021 at the Fort Lyon National Cemetery in Fort Lyon, Colorado.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
