Steven Michael Ortega of La Junta, Colorado, peacefully entered into rest, August 14, 2019 in Pueblo, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in La Junta, Colorado, May 2, 1985 to Martin Sanchez and Sally Ortega.
Steven is survived by his Special Friend, Samantha Romero of La Junta, Colorado, two daughters, Iliana and Havana Rangel of La Junta, mother, Sally Ortega of La Junta, father, Martin Sanchez of New Mexico, Sisters, Trisha Ortega of La Junta, Colorado, Briana Ortega of La Junta, Colorado, Brother, Martin Ortega of La Junta, Colorado, nephews, Dominic Chavez of La Junta, Colorado, Nicholas Chavez of La Junta, Colorado and Adonis Whatley of La Junta, Colorado, aunts and uncles, Robert and Anita Rangel, Betty and Karl Grasmick, Pauline Rangel, Cruz Rangel, Sarah Rangel, Anthony and Dee Rangel, Ronnie Rangel and Ruben Marinelarena, Godmother (aunt) Stella (Federico) Figueroa and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by brother, Tino Ortega, Uncles, Tony Rangel, Benny Rangel, John Rangel, grandparents, Sylivia and Domingo Rangel, Romona Santos-Sanchez and Avencio Sanchez and aunt, Delfa Marinelarena.
Steven enjoyed watching sports. His teams were the Broncos, Nuggets and the Rockies. He loved cooking for his family, and he enjoyed his job as a cook at El Azteca. Most of all Steven loved spending time with his family, especially his two daughters.
A 10:00 A.M. Holy Rosary will be held Friday, August 23, 2019 followed by a 10:30 A.M. Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in La Junta, Colorado. Father Wertin will be officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home of La Junta.
