Obituary for Tom Takeshi Tanabe
Tom Takeshi Tanabe of Las Animas, Colorado and former resident of Crowley and Rocky Ford, Colorado entered into rest, July 29, 2018 peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to Nobuko and Frank Tanabe, August 9, 1941 in Crowley, Colorado. Tom was 76 years of age.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Myrna Tanabe, children, Kevin (Amy) Tanabe, Larry Tanabe, Suzan Tanabe, and Steven (Jazzi) Tanabe, grandchildren, Abbie (Bo Karney) Tanabe, Trenton Tanabe and Raelei Tanabe, sisters, Miyeko Kano, Kimiko Catlin, various nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nobuko and Frank Tanabe and brother Harry Tanabe.
Tom farmed for 32 years and worked for TLM for 12 years. He served his country in the United States Airforce, he enjoyed fishing, his dog wasabi, spending time with his family and he especially loved his grandchildren. Tom was a hard worker, he was an honest man. Tom was quiet, but he had a dry sense of humor and he was very intelligent.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his name to Arkansas Valley Hospice.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 3, 2018 at the La Junta First Church of the Nazarene.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
