Vera Pearl Nelson of Rocky Ford, Colorado, entered into rest, June 11, 2017 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta, Colorado.
She was born October 10, 1921 in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Ollie Brickey and James Harrison Johnson. She was 95 years of age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and her nephew.
Vera was a psychiatric nurse. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary (Post #5) of Colorado Springs,
DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and the American Psychiatric Association.
She is survived by her niece Ailene Sasaki and a great friend, Jim Neel. She was an avid reader, a student her whole life and she lived at Evergreen Gardens Assisted Living for the last 7 years. Vera was laid to rest at the Rocky Ford Valley View Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
