Obituary for Raymond Q. Duran
Raymond Q. Duran, of La Junta, CO entered into rest, August 24, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 22, 1932 in Monte Vista, CO to Edward and Lucy Duran. He was 84 years of age. Raymond is survived by his daughters; Deleana Martinez, Margaret McDonald, RaeJean O’Hara, and his Son, Edward Duran. 21 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Duran, Lucy Ortiz, Margaret Duran (Aunt), brother Julian Duran, Daughter, Schalon “Pee Wee” Duran-Romero, and great grandson, Junior SittingEagle and favorite ex-wife, Marjorie Ruiz.
Raymond served his Country in the United States Air Force.
Raymond enjoyed collecting and fixing old cars, visiting family and eating home cooked meals. He also enjoyed playing bingo and buying lottery tickets. He played the saxophone, clarinet, guitar, and banjo. Raymond sheered sheep, was a coal miner and produce manager.
A Visitation will be held Monday August 29, 2016, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Johnson-Romero Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held Tuesday August 30, 2016, 9:30am followed by Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in La Junta, CO. at 10:00am
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Raymond’s name to the Johnson-Romero Funeral home.
