Obituary for Donicio Sandavol
Donicio Sandoval of Rocky Ford, Colorado, entered into rest, February 2, 2021 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta, Colorado. He was born to Francisquita and Donicio Sandoval, March 18, 1940 in Mora, New Mexico. He was 80 years of age. Donicio is survived by his stepchildren, Judy Padilla of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Betty (Phil Cordova) Griego of La Junta, Colorado, Fred Padilla of La Junta, Colorado, Gloria (Juan) Abeyta of La Junta, Colorado, Jeanette Padilla of Ordway, Colorado, step grandchildren, Misty (John Rocha) Padilla, Mario (Kris) Griego, Linette, Isaac (Valerie), Francesca, Brianna, Derrick, Bernadine (Cisco) Perez, Bernadette (Dominique) Baca, Vince Padilla, Nick Blanco, several step great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special niece, Alpha Duran and special friends, Larry Trujillo and Hector Blanco, sister in-laws, Georgia Marquez, of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Loraine (Richard) Peralta of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Donicio is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Sandoval, step-grandchildren, Daniel Padilla, Betty Griego, Adrian Padilla, Zachary Padilla, parents, Donicio and Francisquita Sandoval, sister, Mary Maes, brother’s Ramon, Traquilino “Lino”, Lazaro Barela.
Donicio enjoyed cooking. He was a loving, caring, hard- working man. He was always happy and he would always joke around. He enjoyed working outside, making picnic tables, wells, planters and he also made jerky for all of his family. He also loved going to cripple creek and scratch tickets. Donicio especially loved all of his kids and spending time with them. He also loved his pets, Sugar and Pretty Boy. He called them his kids. He was loved by everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
