Josephine “Josie” P. Romero of La Junta, Colorado entered into rest, June 2, 2019 at the Vibra Hospital in Thornton, Colorado.
She was born to Benita and Carmen Palacio, March 19, 1938 in Swink, Colorado.
Josie was 81 Years of age.
Josie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Joe Romero, children; Cipie (Niqua) Romero of Phoenix, Arizona, Cipriano (Barbara) Romero of Pueblo, Colorado, Lucille (Stephen Houston) Madrid of La Junta, Colorado, Esther (Luis Rodriquez) Romero of Huntsville, Alabama,15 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren and two sisters, Romana (Frank) Sanchez of Stuarts Draft, Virginia and Rosie (Salvino) Munoz of La Junta, Colorado.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Benita and Carmen Palacio, sisters, Pauline Guerrero, Blanche Jiminez, Adilena Pantoya, Mary Delariva, brothers, Joe Palacio, Salvador Palacio, Mike Palacio, various nieces, nephews and cousins.
Josie loved music and loved to dance. She raised five of her grandchildren and loved to cook. She always made sure everyone was taken care of and made sure no one ever left her house hungry. She enjoyed spending time in the sun, and housekeeping. Josie also enjoyed going to church and had to be there early. She liked riding around in the truck and going shopping. She especially enjoyed the time she shared with her husband. Josie and Joe were always together.
A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday June 7, 2019 at the First Assembly of God Church in La Junta followed by a Committal Service at Calvary Cemetery.
