Obituary for Frank Ruben Deherrera
Frank Ruben DeHerrera of Denver, CO, entered into rest September 15, 2014 at the Swedish Hospital in Denver, CO. He was born, July 26, 1922 to Frutoso and Anna DeHerrera, in Espinoza, CO. He was 92 years of age. Frank is survived by his daughter, Jenett Maes of Denver, CO, Daughter in law Clara DeHerrera, of Chula Vista, CA, granddaughters, Michel Maes, Nicole DeHerrera, Crystal (Kevin) Morgan and Roxanne Deherrera. Great grandchildren Isabella, Emilio, Olivia and Arianna. Brothers; Frutoso DeHerrera Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Herbert, (Betty) DeHerrera of Pueblo CO, Lena DeHerrera of La Junta,CO, Lilly (Aggie) Jiron of Antonito, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frutoso and Anna DeHerrera, wife, Ida DeHerrera, sons, Conrad, Barnaby and Carl DeHerrera, Brothers, Fred, Chris and Orlando DeHerrera and Sister baby Dolores and Rosie Goodbar. Frank was retired from the Gates Rubber Company. He also had his own landscaping company where most of his nephews worked in their teenage years. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Frank loved building. He built his house in Antonito, CO where he and his wife Ida lived for many years. Frank moved back to Denver and continued building and remodeling his home there at the age of 70. Frank loved to dance and along with his wife Ida led many family wedding marches. He volunteered to help adolescents as a member of the San Luis Valley Club in Denver, CO. The club held dances for teens. They required a cover charge and tie as part of a dress code. Frank paid for many under privileged teens cover charge and he also purchased many ties for those who couldn't afford them. A Viewing will be held at 5:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Tuesday Sept. 23, 2014 at the Olinger Chapel Mortuary & Cemetery on 6601 South Colorado Blvd. in Centennial, CO The Rosary will be recited by Deacon Kevin Leiner A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church on 2190 South Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO Monseigneur Jones Will Be Officiating A reception will take place after the burial at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 9405 W Florida Ave, Lakewood, CO. Please take any food for the reception to the Notre Dame Catholic before the Funeral Service. Food will be received by Brenda DeHerrera before the funeral service and transported to St. Jude's. Catholic Church.
