Johnson-Romero Funeral Home (719) 384-8200 Alfred G Yahraus, Jr. of Rocky Ford, CO, peacefully entered into rest in his home surrounded by his loving family, February 2, 2015. He was born August 6, 1938 in Cleveland, OH, to Alfred G. Yahraus Sr. and Alverda Prentice Yahraus. He was 76 years of age. Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Linda Tucker Yahraus of 48 years, children; Sandra Herndon, (Stephanie Qualls), Alfred G. Yahraus III, Cheri Shaw (Terry), Rex French, Terri Collins, Sherri Yahraus and Michael Yahraus, grandchildren, Crystal Voss (Eric), Frank Szmutko, Andru Szmutko, Michael Szmutko, Jr. (Koryn Condit) and Megan Collins, great grandchildren, Matthew, Kaylee, Alyssa, Landen, Malaki and Tayla. Brother-in-law Mike Tucker and Alfred's beloved dog Joy. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Alverda Yahraus. Alfred joined the Army in 1955. He was in the 1st Infantry and was a para trooper. He served one term in Korea, two terms in Vietnam and 4 terms in Germany. He earned a Bronze Star, Parachutist Badge, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Commendation Medal and a Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired in 1975 from the US Army as Staff Sergeant. He will be greatly missed
