Obituary for Barbara Colistro
As the sun was rising on March 24, 2016, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, godmother, and friend, Barbara Colistro left us to join her loving husband, Joe Colistro in heaven above. Those who have also gone on before her are her grandchildren Eric and Kylee, and her son-in-laws Aron and Bob, and good friend Margaret . Barbara is survived by her children Mickey (Sal), Mary Jo, Tony (Peggy), Joe (Liz), John (Tressa), Cathy (Gibby), Susan, Gina (Jess), Bobbie Jo (Ben), Chuck, and Goddaughter Peggy. Her loving brother, Lewis Nichols (Joan) also survives Barbara. Barbara’s 41 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren, and 18 great, great grandchildren will miss their grandma’s loving ways and kind heart. Virginia, Millie and Norman, Manuel and Maria, and Steve will also sadly miss their friend. Barbara was a kind and generous woman who blessed us with much love. She taught us life lessons that will be valued for generations to come. Her legacy is one of love that will shine through all of us as we promise to continue to live in a good way. Services will be held on April 1, 2016 at St. Mary’s Church in Walsenburg, Colorado at 10:30 a.m. with inurnment at Gardner Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of food and flowers, please be kind enough to make a donation to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, who lovingly took care of our mother with such kindness and dignity. We loved you yesterday, today, and forever, Mom.
